The Vicuna Mid Hiker is a lighter weight sock with cushioning in toe and heel area and underfoot. The Mid Hiker is ideal for a higher casual shoe or light weight walking boot. The perfect everyday sock for the casual walker.

Fibre Composition

• 75% Finest alpaca yarn for a silky feel, comfort and temperature regulation
• 20% Recycled nylon interwoven with the alpaca for stability and shape
• 5% Elastane for the perfect fit

Washing Instructions

It is important to know that natural fibres are especially sensitive towards high temperatures and any changes in water temperature. If your washing machine has a gentle wool cycle, you can wash the socks inside out for best results, or gently by handwashing. Please wash separately and only use a Wool detergent. Please do not tumble-dry or dry clean the socks.

The upside is that you have a natural product and often you do not have to wash them so often as a normal sock, you can even go 5 days or more without having to wash them.

Alpacas live in the Andes in extensive farming. Alpacas graze extensively rather than intensively on high altitude moorlands. There are less than 1 alpaca per acre, which minimizes the impact of farming on the environment supporting a long term ecological balance. As well as the impact on nature, social responsibility is part of sustainability.
The suppliers of Vicuña's wool work with the alpaca farmers. They make sure that they get the right education and a fair play for their work. They help the farmers with selective breeding and increasing the number of alpacas on the farms.

Renewable:
Unlike man made fibers wool in general is a product that grows back every year. Alpaca wool is naturally replenished and alpacas can be sheared between November and March.
